Let's talk about the contradiction that is me:
I'm a self proclaimed conservative republican. I really am. I just see no other way to be.
However... I'm addicted to NPR.
I know! I know! I can't stop! I know I'm supposed to be listening to Hannity and Rush (seriously, I don't like either of those guys) and Glenn (love him though) but try as I might I cannot stop listening to NPR. It's been going on for weeks now and the end is no where in sight. I feel like such a traitor to my party when I listen to such "liberal" news (seriously, it's not). I don't love it just for the news. I also love it for all the dirty hippy, tree huggin, liberal, weed smokin, indie lovin, eco-freak, soft spoken, socialist, patchouli scented other crap on there too.
My father would be so ashamed if he knew.

There are two news venues that I don't understand why everyone labels them the way they do...
NPR - liberal? Really? We've listened to it every day for about 4 years and I honestly feel like it's fairly balanced when it comes to politics. The other stuff on there is just... well, like you said. But fun!
The Economist - conservative? Really? I know less about finances, so maybe it is a fiscally conservative magazine, but when we subscribed to it for about two years I felt like it was fairly balanced, politically. And ya gotta love all the *~short~* articles and global topics.
So, I say... tell your Daddy! You're a balanced (oxy)moron!

wa ha ha....i'm such an npr addict, it's not even funny. i can go weeks without listening to anything else on my car radio... i only recently discovered it's considered satan's spawn by conservatives....

Kelly loved to make fun of my radio station of choice, but has recently discovered that NPR is actually pretty engaging. He's still a closet NPR listern though and will deny any such allegations. :-)
The programmer who occasionally shares my office LOVES to listen to Hannity and Rush. I am conservative, but I have a hard time listening to such harsh tones in their voices.
Hannity's latest stunt has been to have a correspondent on the street in New York pick out liberals and asking them if they would like to talk on the radio. The ones that accept are like a fly in a Venus Fly Trap, he asks them leading questions until he's cornered them, then goes off on them, making them appear to be fools. I suppose the average conservative listener of such a show might appreciate hearing a master of rhetoric and political agenda pummel an unsuspecting and unenlightened average liberal in such a fashion, but I believe it is a sickeningly unequal battle with only one outcome.
I like to stay informed, but I fully understand why many conservatives are not fans of the antics of these men.
...If it's not on the Lord's Holy Radio Station...KSL...then I for one won't be polluting my mind with it...
P.S. I'm telling Dad!!!....
I too love the NPR. I also listen to Hannity sometimes, but then I want to kill myself, so I can't listen to it for more than about 20 minutes.
