When you've had 2 good weekends in one month you don't want to let the ball drop and not have another great weekend to end the month. So, what did I do this last weekend?
I went golfing with Jared.
And with Brent.
And, with the rabbits. There's no proof that I was actually there with them but just imagine that I was dressed way better and was a way better golfer than either of the two of them and you'll get the idea.
Golfing wasn't enough fun for one weekend so, what else did I do?
I went to enrichment. But, it wasn't a regular enrichment activity... it was the best ever.
I got together with my best girlfriends and some of my Relief Society gal pals and went KAYAKING! Very enriching indeed!! We kayaked across Lake Mahave and took a lunch break. Too bad the PBJ tasted like laundry soap.
And, then we kayaked some more.
And, then we found an awesome, but short, slot canyon.
And, we took a picture there.
But after all the rowing and sun Wendi and I were feeling a little blurry.
Kayaking is my favorite. Best last weekend in August ever!

The next weekend
Sometimes you find a reason to get up really early in the morning and hit highway 93...
...and you stop at the dam and take photos...
...and sometimes you want a picture of you and the dam, but, you're standing in the wrong place... so it just turns out as a really great picture of you without that pesky dam in the way......and then you drive past a lot of cacti...
...and then you see your destination- the new stadium in Phoenix...
...and you and your sister are looking really cute and enjoying the free tickets you got to your cousin's first big boy NFL game ......there he is- the center #62. And you feel really proud...
...and then you put on a happy face even though the steelers lost. And you enjoy being the newest Steelers fans...
...and then you get to tell your little, baby cousin that you're proud of him......and then you have to go back to work...
...but not before you get to cruise around town looking hot with your sister!

Answering the call for entertainment
I think it's really annoying when people don't update their blogs. So, basically... I hate myself. OK, so not really because, as with most things in life, I totally have a double standard. While it's not ok for other people to not update their blogs, it's totally fine for me to update or not update.
So, what have I been up to? Not much.
Other than...
Camping at Duck Creek... in the rain...
...on a dirt road... ...Wendi ran into some bushes...
So, what have I been up to? Not much.
Other than...
Camping at Duck Creek... in the rain...
...seeing some sheep at pasture...
...getting the jeep dirty...
...4 wheelin...
...on a dirt road... ...Wendi ran into some bushes...
...but she survived...
...and there was a pretty sunset...
...and a cool moon...
...and what I don't have pictures of is a certain someone seranading the entire camp with Lilith Fair songs, much to all of our chagrin, and another certain someone calling out requests for anything from the Bodyguard Soundtrack. I had a laughing stomache ache... so much laughing.
There was more adventure the next weekend!

Double Duty
I admit I'm somewhat of a francophile. I love everything french- the architecture, the language, the pasteries, the art... One day as I searched the internet I found the website of an american woman living with her french husband and two children in the south of France. The more I learned of her the more I realized she is living my dream life! She publishes a thrice-weekly edition of French Word-a-Day and has recently published a book entiteled "Words in a French Life."
One of the great links she had posted on her website was to Paris Daily Photo. For months this has been one of the blogs I check daily. I love this Friendly Parisians photos and commentary and the family of Daily Photo sites that have been born across this great world of ours. I always thought I'd like to start the Las Vegas Daily Photo site but a lack of photographic experience and equipment held me back... until last week.
My dear friend Wendi and I have decided that we would take over the LVDP blog from an Australian tourist who had started it just weeks before. Now we can offer a local's view of the city.
So in addition to thinking of interesting things to post here I've now got to worry about posting a photo every day... every single day. Check it out at lasvegasdailyphoto.blogspot.com!
